Day 01: Arrive in Colombo, then proceed to Negombo and stay the night there

When you get to Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, meet your private driver for a short ride to Negombo that will take around 20 to 30 minutes. You may relax on the sandy beaches or explore the Negombo Lagoon and the local fish markets in the afternoon. Have a quiet evening getting used to your accommodation and getting ready for the fun to come. A pleasant hotel on the beach or lagoon in Negombo is set up for an overnight stay.

Day 02: Drive to Sigiriya in the morning and back in the evening. Climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress and spend the night at Sigiriya.

After breakfast, take a beautiful four-hour journey to Sigiriya, via green countryside and tiny towns. Get there in the late afternoon and climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. While you’re there, check out the frescoes, water gardens, and views from the top. The ascent is timed such that the weather is cooler and the view from the summit is amazing. An overnight stay is planned at Sigiriya, which is close to the cultural site.

Day 03: Explore the ancient city of Polonnaruwa and spend the night in Sigiriya

Take a guided tour of the old city of Polonnaruwa, which includes the Royal Palace, Gal Vihara rock shrine, and Parakrama Samudra. It takes around an hour to get there. Find out about the city’s history, urban planning, and architectural achievements. You might spend the day resting at your hotel or visiting local communities. Stay at Sigiriya overnight.

Day 04: Visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, drive to Kandy, see a cultural show at night, and stay the night in Kandy

In the morning, go to the Dambulla Cave Temple to see its five caverns, which are filled with hundreds of Buddha statues and paintings. After that, travel for around three hours to Kandy, going through beautiful mountains and rural areas. In the evening, watch a traditional Kandyan dance and drumming exhibition that shows off local art. You may stay overnight in Kandy, which is comfortable and close to cultural landmarks.

Day 05: Kandy for the night, the Temple of the Tooth, and the Peradeniya Gardens

Start the day with a guided tour of the Temple of the Tooth, where you can see ceremonies and learn about its spiritual meaning. After that, visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, which has orchids, huge palms, and plants that may be used as medicine. You may spend the day doing nothing or checking around Kandy’s marketplaces and historical buildings. You can still stay overnight in Kandy.

Day 06: Take a beautiful train ride to Nuwara Eliya, spend the day in town, and stay the night there

Take a beautiful train ride from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, travelling through foggy mountains, tea plantations, and waterfalls. When you get there, check out the colonial-era buildings, Gregory Lake, and the marketplaces. You may relax in the highland setting or have spa services at night if you like. An overnight stay is planned at Nuwara Eliya.

Day 07: Hike in Horton Plains National Park until World's End and spend the night in Nuwara Eliya

Leave early for Horton Plains National Park and go on a guided trek to World’s End, a rock with 360-degree views of lowlands and mountains. Visit Baker’s Falls, cloud forests, and foggy meadows to see birds and other animals that live only in that area. In the afternoon, go back to Nuwara Eliya for free time or optional treks through tea plantations. Stay overnight at Nuwara Eliya.

Day 08: Drive to Ella, see Ravana Falls and Nine Arches Bridge, and spend the night there

It takes around two hours to go to Ella, and you should stop at Ravana Falls to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the falling water. Check out the Nine Arches Bridge, a colonial-era railway bridge surrounded by beautiful plants. You may explore the town or relax at local cafés in the evening. Ella has made plans for an overnight visit.

Day 09: Hike Little Adam's Peak, spend the night in Ella, and get to know the village

Start your day with a trek to Little Adam’s Peak, where you can see Ella’s valleys, tea farms, and the mountains around them from all sides. Spend the afternoon in a hamlet, where you may see farms and talk to people who live there to learn about living in the country. Evening free time lets you rest or explore the town. Ella still has an overnight stay.

Day 10: Drive to Udawalawe, go on a safari in the evening, and stay the night in Udawalawe

After breakfast, drive for around four hours to Udawalawe National Park, where you’ll see beautiful scenery along the route. Go on a nighttime safari to see elephants, water buffalo, deer, and many kinds of birds in their natural habitat. A place to stay overnight is set up near Udawalawe so that you can easily get to morning and evening safaris.

Day 11: Morning safari, drive to Galle, explore Galle Fort, and spend the night in Galle

To see the most animals and enjoy the park in beautiful morning light, start the day with a morning safari in Udawalawe. Then, travel for around four hours to Galle, which is on the southern coast. Walk along cobblestone lanes, past colonial-era buildings, lighthouses, and artisan stores to see Galle Fort. An overnight stay is planned at a hotel in Galle or on the seaside nearby.

Day 12: Relaxing on the southern beaches and spending the night in Mirissa

Go to Mirissa, a beautiful seaside town, and spend the day resting on the golden sands. You may swim, snorkel, or just enjoy the view of the shore if you want to. At night, you may eat at seaside restaurants or watch the sun set. A place to stay overnight has been booked in Mirissa.

Day 13: Whale Watching and Staying the Night in Mirissa

Take a guided tour to see blue whales, sperm whales, and playful dolphins in the Indian Ocean. Learn about marine life with knowledgeable guides and take pictures of the creatures and the seashore. You may rest or savour local seafood delights in the evening. Stay in Mirissa overnight.

Day 14: Drive to Colombo, see the city, and then go to the airport

After breakfast, drive for three to four hours to get to Colombo. A professional tour will show you around the city’s best sights, such as Galle Face Green, Gangaramaya Temple, and Pettah Market. Finally, head to Bandaranaike International Airport for your next flight. This ends a trip full of tradition, wildlife, and seaside activities.
